Great videos. God Bless all the troops that have fought and are currently fighting for our freedom and security.
My daughters school has a Veterans Appreciation Day every year. I like it better than giving the kids the day off. The students get to meet veterans and learn what Veterans Day is about. My girl is going to sing God Bless America for the Vets. I'm proud of her and plan on leaving work early to watch her sing.
That reminded me to get the video camera ready to go.

I've been speaking with alot of Vets through my job, and thank each and every one of them when we're nearing the end of our conversation. Most of them take it with a grain of salt as if it was just "normal" what they do, and others actually are nearly taken aback that someone has thanked them. Soldiers don't get the recognition they deserve.

Thanks, Craig. As one that has served their country, I appreciate the postings.
Today, in the local Goodwill store, I got to thank and shake hands with a WWII vet and a 'Nam vet and then got to see them shake hands and thank each other.
Here's a little something from your cousins down under:

My hart goes out to every soldier who has fought & is still fighting for freedom, no mater where they are from! We as residents of our respected countries need to vote to keep those rights they fought for as well! Liberty comes at a price, & we need to do our part to preserve that! Vary respectful bud, you did good!

That was the least aggressive of the political cartoons from Australia.
Funny that none of them ever appeared in US papers . . . . . . . .

To those that are currently serving or have served, thank you from a fellow soldier.
To those who paid the ultimate sacrifice... may God keep you.
To the families of those thank you....as your job(s) is far more difficult than ours.

Because of You, Unknown Soldier
By Courtney Tanabe
Because of you, I am here
Because of you, I am able to live freely
Yet I do not know you
And I have not done anything for you
But there you stand, ready to fight
And there you are prepared to die
For me
You've fought before
And you'll fight again
For someone you don't know
So thank you Unknown Soldier
Fighting for me
I'm here because of you
And I owe my future to you

Thought I'd share today's banner image from my local Jeep site, as it's fitting for today

I haven't verified this from an email, but if it is true, think of how much the USA means to these soldiers:
<> --MOWING GRASS -- PRICELESS
I hope the picture will go through for you - of this Army soldier in Iraq with his tiny 'plot' of grass in front of his tent. It's heart warming!
Here is a soldier stationed in Iraq , stationed in a big sand box. He asked his wife to send him dirt ( U.S. soil), fertilizer, and some grass seed so that he can have the sweet aroma, and feel the grass grow beneath his feet When the men of the squadron have a mission that they are going on, they take turns walking through the grass and the American soil -- to bring them good luck.

If you notice, he is even cutting the grass with a pair of a scissors. Sometimes we are in such a hurry that we don't stop and think about the little things that we take for granted.
Upon receiving this, say a little prayer for our soldiers that give and give (and give up) so unselfishly for us.
You don't have to send this on, but gosh, who wouldn't?

Two of my rook buddies from Norwich are buried in Arlington. When I went down there, all of their rook buddies were there minus the few who were overseas still.
