Yeah, that happened about 30 miles from me... The firebird split into 3 pieces on impact. I saw pictures before the video. It's amazing he's alive.

He's one lucky dumb@$$.

Goes to prove my theory that a good chunk of people who drive Firebirds/late model Camaros are dumb@$$es.

yep, good way to recycle your car so no one has to crunch it and a really good way to recycle a human and become worm food.

Looks like he didn't realize he was about to crash into a police car, until the very last minute.

I think he made the right/ honorable choice to take his chances on the grass, rather than rear end a cruiser at that speed. Too bad that bridge was there.

I have family that are in the FOP and this is what I heard.
This crash happened on his way to wherever from being released after drug charges (cop found marijuana and paraphernalia in his car after finding him, 19, and a 15 year old girl in his car with a bottle of alcohol in a parking lot the night before).
Also got a ticket for doing 90 in a 65... nine days after being cited for "failure to control" in a crash. The police that charged him gave the girl a ride home and let him stay alone with his vehicle and keys "waiting" for a ride. It could have been a suicide attempt or just stupid?
