You gonna remove the material and herculine the fiberglass or just put the herculiner over the material? I would suggest removing the fabric first.

I have already pulled it out and glued new fabric over the old. I was going to take the old off but the fiberglass insulation was trying to pull apart so I left intact and went over it.
I was thinking the Rust-oleum rubberized spray wouldn't be too heavy. I'll try some on some cardboard tomorrow and check it out.

I'd be worried about it in the middle since there is really nolthing holding it up in the center of the roof other than the dome light in the front. That might be enough though.

I saw a write up somewhere about bedlining the headliner its on my to do list the article said to strip all cloth and scrape the old glue and foam left over off then coat the backboard in fiberglass resin let dry for about 24 hours to ensure a good solid base and sand lightly to smooth out then you can herculine to your liking the added strength of the dried resin should support whatever you throw at it

HAHA i had a buz and burning ruber when i hit a bump figured out it was a metal peace on my fender that kept diging into my tire at full flex so i just bent it up and it dont do it. my suspention is realllllly lose it bottoms out over bumps
