Default Who else cannot wait to see James Toney get his ass kicked!!!!!!

I think Toney is a great boxer, but what does he think he is doing fighting Couture with 4-5 months of MMA training???? I mean does he really think that that BS FBI trainer is going to get him ready for a World Class Wrestler, Light heavy, and Heavyweight MMA Champion???

I don't think he really has a chance. Once couture gets him mashed up against the cage he won't be able to use his weapon, which are his hands. He has no MMA experience, no grappling, no wrestling, nothing but punching and dodging. Couture usually wins his fights by controlling his opponents against the cage until they are worn down and then beats em into submission.

What's silly about this dude is he wants to prove that boxing is superior to MMA, which is fine, but doing it against an aging mma fighter is a cheap way to do it. He stands absolutely ZERO chance against someone like GSP, Silva, or Lesnar so he knows he can't prove his point so he goes after someone old and aging like couture just to give himself a small chance of winning. Even if he manages to win, it still proves nothing cuz boxing has nothing over MMA.

Look how Gracie easily beat all those street fighters and boxers back in his time. The guys has no chance cuz they had no training in that style of fighting. Same goes for Toney and his only strength in punching, he's going down.

Couture in the 2nd round is my prediction. I say 2nd round, not cuz it's a close fight but because he's gonna work him against the cage and wear him out and then get an easy uncontested submission in the 2nd round.

I think it really depends who get's the first round of shots in. If the Boxer can land a quick combo, he stands a pretty good chance. If he gets tangled up...probably not so much...

I don't think one is better then the other, but they are certainly different. Flip the situation around. How would most MMA fighters do in a boxing ring? I'm guessing not well.

I have been watchting the UFC since UFC1, I have them all on VHS. This is all old news. Strict boxers got owned when every time they tried to compete. Don frye had fantastic boxing but he was also an accomplished wrestler. Toney is in for a nice embarrasment.

I'd say pretty poorly considering they wouldn't be able to grapple, and lose a lot of their game.

It'll be interesting. I like seeing the cross sports beat downs.

I do not believe Tony is even a great boxer! I mean he is a Champion in a era when boxing is more about money and politics than skill. He reminds me of a black butter bean. A boxer also wears shoes on a ring mat with different surface that gives better traction for the punches. They use a stance that is great for punching but will not allow a person to move in a take down situation. Then they act like the 4oz gloves is a advantage for him NO with the 10oz he was able to hit harder and more without as much worry on his hands they also use them to block alot if he goes to what he knows and puts his hands up like a boxer he will be eating jabs. A MMA fighter spends a portion of their training doing boxing or kick boxing with a pro from the start, Toney as a boxer has only been boxing with no need for the grappling that alone makes MMA the superior sport PERIOD. Couture has been training boxing for 10 or more years and out punched Vítor Belfort (who has fought and won as a pro boxer) in their fist fight. Toney on the other hand has been training for 5 months with a guy whom has never fought in a top level MMA fight!?!?! I could go on and on but in the end Toney sucks and Boxing has been lame for a long time.

Maybe it's just me, but I just don't feel like watching two barely dressed dudes roll around on the floor.

Fixed it for ya!

It's not "Woman's"....I'm not afraid of a woman...and I can't get my ass kicked in under 5 seconds flat by a woman...

The "Females" in the MMA though...

Sorry bud, sweaty half-naked dudes just don't cut it for me.

Not judging anyone else's taste... It's the equivalent of whipping it out to prove yours it longer. Just a little more fairylike.

20 minutes of submission hold MMA is quite boring. That's why I don't buy pay per views. No way I'm going to pay $60 to watch a couple of fellas cuddling...

Nothing beats a good stand up MMA Slobberknocker though!

An actual fight is kinda cool to watch, but grappling... no thanks.
