Hello all. I am selling sets of 6 4-port "upgrade" fuel injectors for '99+ XJs. Part number is 0 280 155 784. This is the most popular upgrade injector for a Jeep Cherokee 4.0. These are typically called the "Neon injectors" but they come from a wide range of Dodge/Chrysler cars and mini-vans.
The advantages of upgrading to these injectors is they use a 4-port fuel delivery as opposed to the single port of stock XJ injectors and this provides a more atomized fuel delivery which results in quicker starts, a smoother idle and better throttle response and acceleration.
I have completely disassembled, soaked, flushed and electronically tested these injectors. I have installed new micro-filters in the tops and put on new o-rings. I reuse the plastic pintle caps on the tips but clean then completely and make sure they have no cracks or chips.
I am asking $70 shipped per set. I can accept PayPal or a money order by mail. I am located in Maryland. If you have any questions about the upgrade or about injectors in general please do not hesitate to send me a PM. Although this is my first ad on this forum I have been selling them actively for years online.
Hello all. Sorry I have not replied. Been very busy with the holidays and other personal matters. I have some injectors but don't have and cleaned and ready to ship right this minute. If someone wants some uncleaned I can let you have a set much cheaper. I will still at least get off the excess dirt and test them electronically to make sure they are working right and put new o-rings on the tops.
Sign me up for a set if you can tell us how to properly clean them. Or i can wait a while if you'll be sure to have a set for me. Is there a way to tell which injectors are in without removing?

Hello, I am thinking about doing this, (been researching like a madman), and am interested in getting a set of 784s. I have a 2001 just for the record I guess.
How much are you looking to get for a ready-to-go set of 6?
Im on a college budget here, hence my question.
Thank you,
XJSuperman
784 injectors delivered within 3 business days and in condition promised. Jeep seems to run better, haven't verified MPG. I will update site after MPG confirmation.
Dealing with Programbo is very fast and efficient.
Thanks for all the follow up guys. I do have a number of sets of injectors but have been slow getting them cleaned because of the weather. I have to do most of the chemical spraying and testing outside since I use starting fluid for the final flushing and testing and the weather has not cooperated on the weekends and even when it's been clear in the evenings it gets dark early or it's cold and windy.
I am looking into a small ultra sonic cleaner which will allow me to clean them quicker (I now soak then a day or two in injector concentrate). The machine will clean them in just minutes and even better than soaking. Plus I will make some sort of manual flushing device so I can avoid the spray cans. I will post when I have some ready to sell or answer PMs for those who have asked.
Hello all and thanks for all the replies in my thread. Things tend to run in cycles. When I started this I kept getting people sending me messages asking for 703's instead of the 784's. Now I have a bunch of 703's and all the 784 guys are back LOL. I need to get some 784's cleaned and tested so it would be until next weekend I could possibly get any out. Thanks.
Thanks again and don't forget to re-set your computer and make sure to lube the o-rings before installing. Pretty much every leak that happens when swapping injectors is due to one of the top o-rings getting torn or cut installing them. Check for leaks before you drive or run it long.
Got mine in last night. Awesome. Definitely runs much smoother, but obviously I haven't checked mileage yet, well see later I guess...
All lubed up and installed, completely cleaned, flushed, and wire brushed the spots where the injectors go in. I had a rusty port...all better now.
Mine are working great. Added 2.5 mpgs and it seems consistent. I have run a bunch of tanks with them now, including 2 700mile roadtrips, almost non-stop, all highway, and a few around town. Bumped up from barely 200 a tank to at least 230 a tank, many times it was more. When on the rodatrips, I only run down to having a 1/4 tank left. The trip used to read somewhere around 170miles, now it reads 195miles at the same spot.
Thanks again Programmbo.
PS, I may want another set here in a bit, I will let you know....
I have them installed in 2002 Grand Cherokee 4.0L, auto trans, 24570R16 tires, select track with standard 3.55 gears using 87 octane.
Recent trip netted 19.3 MPG highway travel at 73 MPH, loaded with 2 months of clothing and misc items for vacation stay and some local some local driving thrown in.
Around town netted 15.9 MPG.
I have no idea what MPG values were prior to installation.
Jeep runs and starts great.
Thank you Programbo for the inexpensive upgrade injectors.
$70 shipped. Degreased. Disassembled. Soaked 24 hours in injector concentrate. Reverse flushed, electronically tested two ways and spray pattern visually verified. Then reassembled with new o-rings and micro-filters in the tops.
My 784s are on their way today thanks to my buddy Kanks. I also received my ev6 to ev1 conversion plugs so if all goes well they should be an easy plug and play swap.
