thats what I thought!
I wouldnt pay that much for the one you put in the link. Didn't want to say price was high if it was yours. If he paid $5k for the motor he didn't research.

price
I am not defending the guy but has anyone ever thought about how much they have in their rigs? We all know that we will never get what we have into our rigs but I have seen tons of guys practically give them away.......why shouldn't he at least ask for top dollar with the mods on his jeep? It would be one thing to try to sell it and it being a pos that you have to fix before actually using it though
I tell you one thing, if I were to sell my rig, I would not let it go for any less than $15k and if no one bought it, then it wouldn't bother me at all.

yeah i know what you are saying. there was actually a recent thread in general cherokee section.
I just go into it thinking that if I am going to stick all this money into it, I might as well keep it or part it out because Ill never get close to what I have in.
But, what I was saying more so about the price was the $5k he said he had on the motor. The only thing I can think is he had a shop do all the work and install because even a stroker from ATK costs about $2700 +/- for a 4.7.
and his list of bads. to sell it for $8500 at least fix the windshield.

and I can see he bought a lot of expensive things to go with like a Skyjacker lift which costs more then they should. and the tera disc conversion.
either way, not to argue, it does looks like a super nice rig.

It is a nice XJ, but as stated above weather he spend 5 grand or 10 grand on the engine it does not matter. I would be surprised if it sells at that price. I would would do 5 grand on it though.

Yep, I agree about the bads. I have mine insured for around $20k just to make sure i am covered.
It is easy to have $5k into an engine......depends on who builds it if it is worth the $5k though.......I had mine built but I assembled it......I wanted to make sure everything matched and had good internals and whatnot so I had a machine shop get it all together for me to assemble.......It makes it easier.......My kit from Hesco cost well over $1k and the shop charged me about $1500 to do everything fo rme......I had the heads done and other stuff too.
When I was in the military, I got a bonus and spent it on a chevy 350.....I put about $6k into it and could have spent a lot more if I wanted......just depends on what you want and how you want to do it.
When I built my rig, I did it with all new parts except the throttle body and stuff like that.....I wanted a good clean slate to work from....just depends.....there are a lot of nice rigs out there but if I had the money......I wouldn't spend my money on something that was cobbled together from junkyard stuff unless it was completely gone through and looks newer.
