I was wondering what happened with this project. I remember following your progress on xjtalk.
How do you release the door to open it? Is there a latch hidden beyond view?

Yes I can make them for any year and with different latches. But the most of the other latches are expensive.

Yes I have been for a while this is the only set that have lasted long enough to get pics of them on the jeep. The only ones I have not made are rears, have not even tried them YET!

Yes it has a regular Heavy duty striker latch similar to the ones used on a gate. The angle piece of sheet metal is what they are welded to. I have done them with all kinds of different shapes and styles for the latch mount. This was one of the my early sets that I made for me and now I want to do something else. I can make them with latches with a paddle handle like a TJ door but the latches cost $70. So I have always kept it simple.

how long does it usually take to make up a set of these? just curious cause i think this will be my next purchase on payday.
