I think I got a good deal. Mileage wise it has 256... thousand miles on it. Engine was replaced at some time with a capital city piece. From everything I've read this is a pretty good year to have. No cad front axle, 4.0, 5 speed. So far mods are flowmaster muffler, 2" buget lift , cut fenders , hood louvers & my crazy heavy foot. The 4.0 makes enough power to spin the tires in 1st 2nd and 3rd. This is my first jeep.

Yeah a excursion had backed up into the jeep. Hopefully soon I'll be making front and back bumpers with 2" receivers & sliders.

I've got to get more pics of it on here soon. Today within ten minutes I got my tools out and had cut drilled and bolted on a battery hold down, I made it out of scrap aluminum angle. I want a locker for the front along with different tires so I can race at the mud bog some time.

I should change the rear axle first though , my rear axle is a d35 and I guess it uses C clips.

Since those pics were taken I've painted the body gloss black. Front end is different to because I'm running without a front bumper for now.

I read that in 91 the 4.0 made 195 hp, that's more than my 85 W350 made when stock, The jeep weighs a lot less at 2900 vs almost 6000.

Yeah they're really light because they're unibody. And does your 91 still have the Dana 30 with the vacuum system to engage the 4x4?

no it doesn't have a cad front end. I heard that they stopped using that starting in 91.

Hmmm someone must have already swapped yours out. They started going to a regular Dana 30 in 1992. 1991 was the last year they used the cad Dana 30.

Umm, I have an 87 non cad axle! It all depends on the transfer case that was in the vehicle in the earlier ones.

OP- nice rig! I am currently thinking about buying a 2 door and turning it into a trailer queen.
