Finally some pictures of the new look
Really wanted to do a build thread on the lifting process but I was so in the zone to get it done I forgot to take pictures.
Went with Rusty's 4.5 inch kit with 4.5 inch lift spring packs. Initially got 6" in the front and 5.5" in the rear vs a stock XJ. I'll measure again after a little over a month goes by. Really impressed with the kit and it only took 2 days for me to get it from the man in brown.
Went with 31" Mickey Thompson Baja Claws and ProComp 15x8 black D window steel wheels with 4.5" BS
Here's some pictures of it almost done. Just running one shock in the rear since I broke the lower shock mount stud on the passenger side. Waiting on some free time to drill it out and use a grade 8 bolt to fix that.
Pretty impressed with the tires. Not that loud at all on the road either.
When I get the JKS discos on I'll post some pictures of flex. Not impressed with the idea of brake line extension brackets so longer brake lines are looking good to me. Just don't know what to do about the ABS lines.
Next will be sliders, winch, bumpers, roof rack, lights...I love my Jeep but they sure know how to swindle you out of money.
When I bought the Jeep the PO had put 2 inch coil spacers and 2 inch blocks on it. I was happy to ditch the blocks. When I'm ready for new tires (33s) I'll put the coil spacers back on, get a long arm kit, and look into IronMan's 2 inch shackles.

Looks great, I love the tires. You ever think about doing like some hard core crawlers do and mount them tires back wards. I wonder how much that really helps. I have the Procomp Xterrains, but I just cant seem to bring myself to do it. Mount the directional tires backwards that is.

Can you get rid of the ABS on the newer XJs?
I got rid of my ABS but mine is a 94.

Never thought about doing that. Yeah I don't know if I could bring myself to do it either. I really like the way they look.
Thanks JRW. Yeah I can get rid of the ABS it's just a hassle because I'm limited on free time and it's my daily driver. It is on the "to do" list when the conditions are right.
