91 limited whats special about a limited anyways??lol

so i have a 91 limited, been repainted , has factory alarm,tow package leather,power everything, overhead temp, compass.
Does it have keyless built in?? i have to turn the trun lock to turn off the alarm.
anyways i would like to get a keyless factory fob for it if it came with one.
i know i have searched on this and cant find a for sure answer.
also wondering which rear end i have. literally ive driven it 30 times and owned it maybe 6 months, lol.

I used to have a 91 laredo, I don't think it had an alarm though. As for the names, "limited", "laredo", "sport", those just refer to trim packages that were available. Laredo and Limited being the top of the line with better stereos and overhead consoles and power everything down to where the "sport" was pretty basic unless someone ordered with extra stuff from the factory. The keyless for my 91 was actually via infrared remote. On your overhead console, somewhere in the midde, do you have a weird little dome that looks like a tiny security camera? If yes, that's the IR receiver. Point your remote at that and it will unlock and lock your doors. If you don't have the remote, then you're probably screwed. It's a crappy system. I ended up getting a clifford remote start and alarm with keyless entry for my 91. As far as your rearend goes. You probably have the turdyfive but if it has the tow package I have heard models as late as 91 that have the Dana 44 but it is highly unlikely. Also, just cause it has a hitch on it doesn't mean it is the factory tow package. Somewhere on this big ol' interweb you can find pictures of what the differentials look like from the rear. Limited is just the trim package, like 60Driver said. You could get almost any option in any trim package. For instance my 85 Laredo had sensors to detect levels on everything from the tranny to the radiator over flow. My 86 Laredo does not. 85 had power seats, 85 not. These options are ordered by dealers for XJs already on the lot, but all could be custom ordered. If you want keyless entry, Painless Wiring has an interesting one. You can get a fob that has four different functions.

im pretty sure i have a Chrysler rear end. its not a 44. every jeep ive seen has had the dome thingy. i figured it was part of a compass or light sense thing.well there was an aftermarket alarm in this car but no key fob so i removed it. if i disconnect my battery and reconnect it my factory alarm goes off, flashing my lights and the horn function was deleted by the last guy since the battery was always needing to be jumped.my dome lights are all screwed up and wont shut off at the rear ones only my front 2 can turn off. i seem to remember replacing the door switches months ago. also the headlight switch wont turn on the front two domes on the overhear or are they just map lights?suppose i should reload alldata on my new pc i just built and start tackn down stuff. winters coming.
i love the awd np242.and since all it does is rain here its the best for handling. i just leave it in 4 full time, never take it out. besides the 242 can be a pain to fully disengage back into 2wd. dont know if my 4 partime works or not, the light wont come on but it could be the bulb. jeep season is here
