I have a stock 97 Cherokee with 142k miles rides smooth until I go over 70mph it starts shaking until I hit 74mph it smooths out and starts again over 81mph. I had my brand new tires and wheels already balanced twice and still does it. It's not a hard shake but I'm concern it may get worst.
Is this a normal thing, is there an easy fix? Thank you for your help. |

What brand and type of tire are you using? Some tires don't balance well at all, regardless how many times you try. I had a set of Bridgestone Dueler D693 AT's (not the Revos) that did not want to balance no matter how many times I balanced them.
Take Mudd's advice and swap them front to rear. This sounds like a balancing issue.d

I had what I hear is called the "Death Wabble" on my '87 Cherokee at about 200,000 miles. It was violent, triggered multiple times by hitting a bump or road irregularity at over about 45 MPH. Had to slow to 10 mph to get it to stop. My mechanic replaced what I think he said was the stabilizer bar in the front end, and that took car of the problem.
