Default AC question

Hey guys, I was testing out my AC last week and the fan seemed to kick on but it did not stay on for long and the AC kept making a clicking noise. I had a T Flush attachment on the heater hose and the cap blew right off. My jeep never overheated but I thought the cap blowing off the T flush had something to do with the AC or maybe too much pressure built up. I changed the heater hose to a straight hose with no T Flush attachment. I dont really know. I dont have any leaks except the usual seepage that at the main seal and around the head... any thoughts on this?

Welcome to the forum, if you have not been welcomed already.

The heat and the water to make that happen are unrelated to the AC, except they come out the same places. When the AC compressor comes on, it stays on until a certain high pressure is accumulated and then shuts off until that pressure comes down. So it cycles, which is normal and so does the radiator fan does the same

so the AC probably had nothing to do with it. I had a leak in the T Flush fitting last week that a mechanic found and he replaced the fitting, then just a few days later the cap on the flush fitting blows of. and I mean it blows off... the top of the cap was broken off and coolant all over the place with the rest of the cap still screwed on. I just removed the whole thing and replaced it with a new heater hose. I just assumed the flush fitting could not handle the pressure in the system. But then I start to worry if that much pressure could blow anything else. I have not had any problems since and my engine temp stays right at the mid point.

Those flush fittings are not really designed to stay in anyway. They are just plastic.

good to know... the mechanic didnt seem to like them very much. It was already installed when I bought the Jeep and I never saw one before.

Thanks for your help.

If the A/C cycles on/off every few seconds, it's low on refrigerant.

I will respectfully disagree with that.
