Default Drive shaft play

I was hearin a clunkin sound today when i was drivin, wasnt too noticeable till today. Checked the front suspension thinkin there was something loosen n saw that my front dive shaft has play in it. I put on the 4wd n it still had play in it. Please someone tell me its not what i think it is.

Rear or the front? If its the front it could be the splines are just worn. It could also just be the ujoints. It all just depends where there is play.

There is rotational play in the driveshaft. This is normal. There should not be any play in the splined portion of the shaft and also in the u-joints. So where's it loose?

How and when does it clunk?

If your front shaft is clunking and its not the u-joints, its usually either a loose/warn trans mount or your shaft could be hitting your exaust where the downpipe bends.

Take off the shaft and drive it again. See if it still clunks....

The clunkin is in the front, it happens ever so often. It all started bout a jst after i put the spacers in the front. I thought it was comin from the track bar, so i called RUstys and changed that and it came with the ball joint. Still made the sound ever so oftet but not as much. Called Rustys again they told me to change the bracket and the ball joint to theres. Im thinkin its the u joints that finally took a crap so im gonna have to do that. Should i change all the ones from the drive shaft only or the CV ones also.

Pull the front drive line and see if that is it first. Clunks usually come from things like ball joints.
