Default Gas mileage

How many mpg are you getting? Im getting less than 8. It's only slightly modified (2 inch lift sitting on 31's) The guy I live with says that the mods are why it's getting the mileage that it is. I say it's all the mechanical issues (see my other posts)

BTW the guy also says that there is nothing wrong with the mileage I am getting.

lol he is high. 8 mpg I'd check for a line of fuel streaming from the gas tank.

I was getting 10 mph jumping on it and running 3:55 gears. 4:56 gears and normal driving helped a lot.

This is what I get also. I drove from here (Medford,OR) to Seattle. Which is mostly uphill and I was not babying it at all. I was pulling 70mph up the mountains and I got 16.0mpg flat.

I can get 20 mpg running at 65 mph out of my 2000 XJ. It averages around 15-17mpg in mixed driving. Anything over 65 and mileage drops off drasticly.

BTW, that is with 31's, and 3.55 gears.

Oddly enough I recently repaired/replaced a leaky fuel rail and all my fuel injectors (one of those was leaking) Even with the leak I was getting 10-12 mpg. But now...................

I thought maybe someone was stealing my gas but I do have a locking gas cap. Then again the dumbass who says there is nothing wrong with the mileage I am getting does have a key Mmmmmm.................

I've tried several things to improve my gas mileage, I'm thinking of replacing all the injectors next.

Change the cap and don't say anything and see if mpg improves

That low of mpg is just absurd
