yesterday I changed my oil I have used 30W with lucas in the past this time I used 5w30 as it calls for in my book. the motor runs very smooth but the oil pres. went from 20 at idle and 40 on the freeway to 20 on the freeway and less than 10 at idle I would appreciate your input on this

haha drain it fill it try it again ... your jeep may just not like 5-30
double check for leaks too

I agree with Cad, your car probably didn't like it. I use 10W-40 in my car...

That was kinda what I was thinking. I fixed all the leaks, it's the first time since I got it that it dosen't leak.

Don't trust the stock oil pressure gauge. My stock gauge would go down to about 10 psi at hot idle. I installed an aftermarket gauge it stays around 25 hot idle and doesn't even go below 20 when wheeling in the summer.

I would install an aftermarket gauge to check the actual oil pressure.

It connects exactly where the stock one goes.

I had the same issue when I changed weight, but when I switched back it righted it self.

I went back to 30w and lucas back to normal
