Default ignition wiring confusion

Hi everyone i picked up an 88 cherokee limited that i want to be my new off-road toy. i sold my last one when i shouldn't have

This xj is rust free and probably never seen a trail except for the one time i took it out. when i bought it i had to replace the steering column because some thief butchered it and when i was doing this i found a wiring nightmare. seems like everyone who owned my jeep left their mark.

here is my most confusing problem..
one day i lost all power to my key, no buzz nothing its like its not even hooked up. a while ago my wife and i were testing the wires to the harness that connects into the ignition switch and the red had power, so i swapped the steering column with another one i have and still no luck. at that point i gave up.

so i thought it would be cool to bypass the key all together, thats what led me to this thread. but i would need to install switch for acc, power on and maybe a fuel cut off switch too.( thats why i came here in the first place i dont know how to do that properly )

(with the battery charged and only the ignition switch harness unplugged)
i tested that same red wire today it had no power ive always been a mister fix it but this time im lost. i checked all my relays under the hood by swapping one at a time checking if id get power but nothing. i used a new relay to do this.

does anyone know what feeds this red wire on the ignition switch with power ??

im sorry if i sound amateur but thats why im here this stuff is all new to me. any help you all could give me would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot in advanced you guys are great !
