Pfff. I say sleeper it and use it as a daily. Ensure all OEM components are in good shape, then build up the motor a little bit and use it as a daily. Have fun with it at night or on weekends surprising imports  Perhaps use it to tow your other XJ to the trails that way catastrophic breakage won't be as big a deal.
Intake, header, full exhaust, port/polish/port-match 97+ intake manifold (MUST be coupled with 24lb injectors and an adj. FPR to see power gains), CompCams Xtreme 4x4 cam, and perhaps a 75-shot of nitrous for fun (installed and used properly, it won't be detrimental to your motor).
