Buy xjs
Why are xjs so damn expensive?
Im looking on craigs list and the only reasonable ones, for a teenager anyways, are pre 90 models in lousy shape. Or ones with 200k + milage.
How much would you guys say a stock xj is worth with some where around 175k and a decent body?

XJ's are pretty cheap around here!
I would expect to pay no more than $2200 for a decent '91- '96 Cherokee.
I got mine for $1600

Here's a 93 that looks decent for $1000. 93 Jeep Cherokee Country
There are also some that are even cheaper that are in fair condition. But you're right, they all have high mileage.

You should be able to find a pretty good deal on a Cherokee. My brother bought his for $1000 and it already had a lift with 33's. Just be patient...

It is all about what you think is expensive, but I think $1500-$2500 for a '91-'96 XJ That runs good and has little to no body damage is a goo deal.It is hard to find a XJ that is 15-19 years old that does not have 50K on it though.

I bought my 1989 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer bone stock for $300. Was very clean, ran great and only had 140,XXX miles on it. I bought it last may. It has 146,XXX miles on it now and I've driven it daily ever since I bought it. Still runs like a top! Looks a lot different though

we get a mixbag of prices and conditions over in cowlitz, i saw a lifted (hardcore) offroad style 95 a month ago for $1200 that was in $4000 shape, and my sister bought the xj thats now mine (gotta love handmedowns) for $2100 even though it was in $300 condition when she bought it from the church down the street. the reason they are so expensive most of the time in washington state is because theres so much demand for them, i see 40+ jeeps a day when im out for errands/parts, more than 20 of which are xj's, people love them, and they want to see the big money when they part with them

if your looking for something on the cheap (under 1000) be prepared to spend a little time under the hood and if you need any help just let us know and well give you some of the best advice around

in most of washington the $1200 ones will be comparable to the $700 elsewhere

Thanks for the help. The guy isnt very convincing though. Doesnt start and he says its just the crank sensor? I'd hate to get it then find out it needs another 400 worth of parts
