HID Lights
While i was looking for some new headlights, I ran across the HIDs. they seemed pretty reasonalbe for what they are so I did some research and asked around and then got some HIDs for the H4B2 headlights, which is what I was lead to believe was the stock Jeep Headlight on our Xjs.
However it is not, so I asked the parts guy and he says that the H3 HID kit is what I need. So I bought it, took it home started on taking out the old to realize, that I have a halogen Sealed beam headlight. This means, there is no way to replace the stock bulb with an HID.
Now my question is, do I try to get an H3 housing from some where or do I go for the H4 housing?

To be honest I would just run some silverstars, they are cheap and a good stock upgrade.

You can get them at most auto parts stores. They're made by Sylvania.
I also vote for the Silverstars.
I have the SS's in my trail rig, and I have HID's in my DD (they came with it when I bought it). The SS's are much better than the HID's IMHO, and I may switch back down the road.

well if you stick with the HIDs i dont think they make a headlight for a XJ that uses H3 so you will have to go with the H4 bulbs

Im running basic halogens right now, but I think if i go HID, they would be for the roof lights. Theres a guy here locally that has HID kits for cherokees, but I dont have $100, and I dont wanna break something or have them not work when I need em.

I saw some headlights in an xj at the junk yard and they had the replaceable bulb with the fixed housing. I was wondering if any of the xj's came stock with this option or if someone replaced them at some point. They were in a 95' 2 door.

I don't need SS's.... I have 4 - 100w 5x7's on the roof, they light everything up quite nicely haha
