things I know so far
that my future cherokee has
- front skid plate
- gas tank skid plate
- tcase skid plate
- new radiator
- new water pump
- new hoses
- new serpentine belt
- 2001 electric fan
- new champion plugs with mopar wires
- new elbows that go on the valve cover
- 4x4 part time
- new headlights
- new radio unit
- fresh home made paintjob (a decent one btw)
- 5 new tires
- tranny cooler
- rebuilded power stearing pump
- very very small only one drop leak on the rear of the motor, (I think I should not worry about it)
- new cat, but rusted out exhaust
- new monroe sensatrack shocks
- A/C works great
- has the same prob as many other xjs that the alt does not give enough power to power the lights and A/C without lowering the Alt gauge
- has a water leak (maybe) coming from the top of the front windsheild that when it rains water gets in...
- might need a new fan clutch
- has a 160 Tstat (recomended by the guy at Mopar store)
- the guys sprays down all the things that might get corroted with some marine jelly or grease to prevent that,
- only 86k miles on the clock
- the guy took all the carpet out to check for rust and it has non (I will verify this later, myself)
- he change the diff oil to synthetic valvoline, he does not know if it is posi or not so he did not add any additives to the oil, I will check at 3pm
- it has a chrysler rear diff, open
- he uses 15 w40 engine oil
I think thats about it.. still need to check what rear diff it has and if it has posi or not.. aslo it is a 4.0L HO automatic
anything else that I should know?

Looks good, BTW the oil drip from the rear of the engine sounds like the rear main seal leak. Very common.

Most people dont until it starts getting pretty bad because its a PITA to replace. Just check your oil every week or so just to make sure there is a sufficient amount of oil in there.
