hoping to get the front axle in next weekend...but we'll see how it goes...
list of stuff thats left to do:
-fix calipers on rear axle, weld shock brackets on
-weld on mounts to front axle, clean it and paint it, swap outter chevy junk for ford(brakes too), replace ujoints, install axle
-buy steel, build a custom crossmember for the klune/dana 300 (gotta install those still)
-build some driveshafts
-buy gauges an install
-wheel the piss out of it

I'm not sure if you explained this already, but why are you going with hydro assist instead of just full hydro? If this isn't a DD, and you're going through this much work now, I would think that full hydro makes more sense. Not bashing, genuinely curious as to your train of thought
Nice build so far, I've been enjoying it!

its all good, i dont mind questions...going hydro assist because my buddy just went to 40's, and he bought full hydro and sold his set up for 170 bux...he was turning 38's no problem with it. I will run the assist for as long as i have the humvee wheels/tires on there (probably about a year). Eventually i will go full hydro, i just got a really good deal on the whole setup. ha, this is most definitely not a DD...
next present for the xj came in last night...twin stick for the dana 300...

the shackle relocation brackets and 2" longer shackles gave me some more lift in the back (but still using the 4.5" RE leaves). i picked up some taller coils for the front, as well as some new bds long travel offroad shocks, to even it out.
