Default 1989 Laredo, Project Dee Daddy

Hi guys and gals. I've been lurking here and occasionally posting for the last couple of years while working on my Cherokee. I want to thank everyone for their help. Most of it has been through the search function as the is an enormous amount of information here. I received my XJ when my father died 2 years ago and it had sat for a couple of years before. Not running came home on a trailer. Since then a vast amount of work has been performed to get it road worthy again. Here's the list:
Items Repaired
1. Wiring harness behind battery
2. All engine and body grounds (cleaned, wire ends replaced)
3. TPS ground (grounded directly to firewall)
4. Throttle body (removed, disassembled, cleaned, re-assembled and replaced)
5. Fuel tank removed and cleaned
6. Shift interlock (defeated)
7. Rear brake line
8. Rear hatch lock
9. Rear window wiper
10. Rear window washer
11. Rear tire carrier (adjusted stop, lubricated latch)
12. Serpentine belt adjuster
13. Rear brake adjusters
14. Bled brakes all 4 wheels
15. Passenger door rust and damage
16. Cleaned and lubricated hood release
17. Painted hood

Items Replaced
1. Master cylinder
2. Engine relays and plugs
3. Battery
4. Battery cables
5. MAP Sensor
6. IAC solenoid
7. Fuel pump (twice!)
8. Fuel injectors (upgraded with Gen III Bosch 4 hole injectors)
9. Fuel Rail
10. Fuel Pressure Regulator
11. All fuel system O rings
12. Fuel filter
13. Ignition switch
14. Rear wheel cylinders
15. Rear brake shoes
16. License plate light
17. License holder
18. Thermostat
19. Thermostat housing (96 model added air bled)
20. Water pump
21. Radiator
22. Distributor cap and rotor
23. Spark plugs
24. Spark plug wires
25. Window felts
26. Rear wheel studs
Upgrades
1. Battery to started solenoid cable
2. Alternator to battery cable
3. Changed from electric to manual windows
4. Changed from electric to manual locks
5. Removed old window tint
6. Changed rear hatch speakers to 6 inch coaxial
7. Steering wheel from CJ sport
8. Bypassed fuel pump ballast resistor
9. Cold air intake
10. Moved air intake temp sensor to cold air intake tube
11. Added Dodge Dakota radiator neck to upper hose
12. Radiator to 3 row all aluminum radiator
13. Gauge and switch panel to front of center console
14. Transmission temperature gauge
15. Voltmeter
16. Switch panel to rear of center console
17. Pioneer Supertuner
18. Additional battery to ground cable
19. Added LaBaron hood vents
20. Bed lined fender flairs and lower body
21. Under hood light (replaced with 97 F350 light)
22. Roof rack lights
23. Additional roof rack bars and tie downs

A number of future upgrades are planned/in the works:

16. Roof basket for rack

18. Install power inverter
19. Transmission cooler
20. Trailer harness

Few more that are more current, Currently have Goodyear Wrangler 30/9.50-15s on it no lift as of yet

im jealous, you have the factory rear swing out tire carrier!

Hadn't posted much here in a while so I'll catch up a bit. Been doing mostly minor maintenance issues. Bought 3 inch lift with lower control arms from Rough Country. Installed the rear add-a-leaves and shocks. Took about 2 hours, no broken or stuck bolts. My Jeep is almost totally rust free so it makes things easier. I did soak my leaf spring mounting bolts with PB Blaster as I plsn on replacing the leaf springs eventually so every time I'm under the rear I hose them down. (Having problems loading pictures will try to add some later)

The tires are Treadwright Guard Dogs. 31-10.50-15. I had a set of the older Treadwrights (High Tech retreading at the time) on my '71 Wagoneer for 10 years without problems. Wore like iron, good traction, the older ones were noisy though.

I don't post on this thread much. I've been living in Texas and just moved back to Louisiana this past week. Still working 6 days on, 8 off in Houston but will have more time now.

I bought mine set of used Guard Dogs from Muddeprived. I like them. Very Good all around tire. Mine didn't come with the anti-gravity option, , maybe Mud wore that out before I got them!

Gluck the anti-gravity feature is optional and in a difficult to locate place on their website.

(Actually I didn't get it at first and was working on a bed in my work shop when it hit me duh!! Funny, had a good laugh at myself for being so slow. Thanks for the laugh!)
