I thought I should share my little build lol.
So I was given my XJ from my dad becasue I sold my rx7 and didnt have a car lol. But i was given the XJ in 2007 and had about 170-180k miles on it. At first I hated the thing thought it was stupid because I was one of the "ricers" lol. But began to love it so much as soon as i had to drive in the first snow storm!
here is a pic of what it looked like when i got it(i added the fogs)
here was my rx7
on a side note everything i have done to my xj. 3" RC Lift, JKS Adjustable trac-bar, Teraflex quick disco, Crager D window rims, 31x10.50R15 Goodyear Duratracs, Local builders rockers, D-ring shackle receiver. trimmed fenders, hood vents, k&n drop in filter, and 235k miles and counting, roof rack with full size spare on top, bilstiens 5100 all around. Currie CurrectLynk Steering upgrade with moog steering stabilzer.
Ya I do! I forgot i even posted this ahah, but when I get home Ill put some more pictures up of the new lift and tires and everything on this thread. Thanks Leon
I dont have any pictures of my new lift going on but, i have pictures of after lol. Its a Rubicon Express 3.5" lift with 1.75" coil and shackle spacers, so im around 4.75-5" lift. I also have 32x11.50R15 GY MT/R w Kevlar tires and love them! I also didnt have any pictures of installing my rear Lockrite locker but I installed that along with a riddler rear diff cover.
You should go to moab, its deffinitly worth the money to go! The 4wd community out there is ridiculous every one is everyones friend lol its awesome:thumbsup:
so I ordered the E-Locker and Riddler cover which I received today! I also am waiting on the 4.56 gears so I can install this! Ill definitely post pictures of the install of the gears and locker
Haha Ya even my friends didn't know where it was Lol. But we are going to do it our selves, my buddy has done a quite a few axle regears so he is good to go.
4wheelparts wanted $1500 to install locker and gears, so I'm not paying that lol
Well actually I changed them up quite a bit during those few years, the guard dogs kept having defects and I was sick of dealing with treadwright so I bought new duratracs. I then was lifting the jeep a little more and one of my Sears stores was closing and they had the mtr w kevlars in their shop and I got them for $90 a piece so switched it up again.
I then sold the duratracs for $600 since they had 4000 miles haha but I'm almost all the way through the mtrs now and it's been a couple years now on those haha
What problems did you have with the guard dogs? Mine are smooth as silk all these years and still got a little more than 3/4 of it's tread left (judging by the brand new spare). I haven't had em balanced since the original mount/balance way back then. They have been great. My crawler tires on the other hand have been awful. Two years later and they are literally worn and shake like a mofo plus the tread is starting to separate near the edge of each large lug. I'm switching them out for Goodyear Authority tires.
Haha that's why for the $90 I had to buy them, if I didn't I would be an idiot haha
But for the problems, they kept being defective on me, the internal steel bands kept breaking and the tire essentially conned up. Another time the tread separated completely. After these events happened twice within a month I vowed to only buy new tires from here on out.
It may just be my luck that it happened to me lol. But your the reason I went with them lol. You inspired me to get the hood vents you have lol
