Default 93 Cherokee Budget Build

I'm new to the forums so I thought I would say hi by showing off my jeep.

So when I was 15 and looking for my first car I wanted a vehicle that I could drive around in around town but something that would be able that could get to remote camping spots and some light wheeling. I decided on the Jeep Cherokee. I found one on craigslist and bought it. I bought it for $2,500. It had about 140,000 miles and was in MINT condition. The first thing I did was put on a new bumber that I picked up from pick-n-pull for $30.

Some poser shots:

For stock I was blown away by what it could do. Even with both front and rear sway bars it could flex like none other (or so i thought).

So of course I had to get some tunes to bump in my jeep so I bought some subs, amp, new door speakers and deck. I put some kenwood 6x9s in the back and some JVC arsenal 6" in the front.

For exhuast I used the Flow Master 10 Series. Single chamber. It sounds really good.

I got bored pretty quick with a stock looking jeep so I bought some used RE 3.5" leafs and springs. Bought RE LCAs, rough country adjustable trackbar shocks, and quick disconnects. I got some 3 degree shims from rustysoffroad.

I added some "rock lights". I got them for free so why not?

I had some driveline vibes so I made my own T-case drop.

I got some tires from a friend for $10 a pop.

I herculined my kicker panels.

While I was at it I decided to rip my carpet out and bedline everything. I used dublicolor instead of herculiner because I didn't want as much texture. I often sleep in my jeep so the smoother the better.

I also took the doors off.

Gotta keep it legal, of course

Some poser shots:

I've got about $3800 in this jeep total and I am happy with it.

Right now I am working on making some rockrails, front and rear bumper and eventually tying that into a full exo cage. Before I do a full exo, I am going to swap the rear with either a ford 8.8 or chrysler 8.25 29 spline axle and throw on 35"s. Im debating adding more lift with 35s. If I do it will probably only be a spacer and shackle lift with some cheapy rough country control arm drop brackets.

Remington wide brutes, haven;t seen a set in years. Might be a recap of an old case, but i don't think so.

Welcome to CT!

Build looks great. But I would keep an eye on those brake lines. Looks like the passenger side is maxing out on it.

Funny you mention that...

Broke the brakeline on the side of a hill. Pedal went all the way to the floor so I ripped the e-brake. Had a great weekend though.

They are originals. They where made in either 1992, or 1982. One of my friends had them laying around in a shed and I bought them for $40. They are chunking pretty good but for $40, who cares. I have 4 bfg all-terrains laying around when these tires wear out.

No, I still have them. I built two ported boxes and put them in there instead of the sealed one. I'll take a picture of it sometime.

I haven't done much to my jeep lately. I added a 1 3/4" coil spacer in the front and 2" shackles in the rear. I built a rear bumper for it a couple weeks ago.
