Thanks Just a word of warning, they run a little short. They are for 4" of lift, and they only have about 1-2" of downward travel compared to when my jeep is level. I am going to run a 1" spacer in the front and BPE in the back to compensate.

is it a good idea to get shocks made for a couple inches of lift larger than the lift your actually running?

Eh it can be. Depends on the shock really. What you want to do is buy shocks according to their compressed and stretched lengths so that way you have the best fit for your jeep.

I started work on my rock sliders this week. I bought 20ft of 4x2 1/8" (didn't have 3/16") and 10' x 3" of 3/16".
I have everything made, i just need to drill 48 holes through 3/16", so it's taking me awhile. Once i'm done with that, I can mock it up and then weld the mounts to the sliders. I keep buying the entire dewalt drill set because the 1/2" drill bit is $16, while the entire set is $20 So right now I have 3 sets sitting at my house.
O and I did everything with an angle grinder, cut off wheel, and a 110v fluxcore lincoln electric welder.

O, before i get to involved with how I want to mount it, i'll ask you guys for advice. Right now I am planning on making brackets that go inside the frame and then bolt it all together. I've already cut the holes in my floor board so i'm not worried about that, i am just wondering how companies normally do it?

all you have to do is surf the web and see how they all do it.
If you look at AJs design, it seems to be one of the best, and most planned out.

The majority of companies will mount to the frame rail like you are and then they will also put another mount at the pinch seam underneath your door area.

Does anyone know how to drill through 3/16" plate without killing yourself? I use cutting fluid and make a pilot hole, but when i go to drill using the 1/2" but, right before I am all the way through, it binds and sends me flying. It's a major PITA getting the last bit of the hole drilled. I have 36 more holes to drill so I need a solution.
I don't have a drill press so that isn't an option.

get a drill with a cord,(endless power) and go light, don't push real hard, just lightly let the bit just shave the metal off. it will take a long while, but hey, better than breaking bits and your arse.
