Even when I go light, it still binds.

IDK what to tell ya. The only times I have had to drill holes through the 3/16 frame I started with a pilot hole and just incressed every 16th of an inch.

They have unibits right at home depot that are the right size, I use them at work all the time. If you don't want to buy a new bit then pilot with something smaller than a quarter inch, then use a quarter inch bit, then a three eighths then the half inch. The trick with drilling steel is to drill hard but with moderate to low speed. That will definately save your bit because you won't burn the metal which makes it brittle. Sometimes you will still bind a little but not as bad if you step it up like that. I just throw it in reverse and ease the pressure and drill it again with more speed and lighter pressure. Definately a sharp bit helps a lot. Lol did I over explain?

Well i got my rock rails half done by helping my gf replace her wheel bearings. When I was getting the races in, i used stainless steel stock, but the race was 1.8" and the stock was 1.875, so i lathed .075 off for a perfect fit.
She had the pleasure of packing her own bearings
