thanks guys, allways wanted a long term project, keep me out of the doghouse with the wife, I think my list just got longer than her's- haha.
Since I dont need the XJ axles after this year, I thought I'd weld a few things up, cut a few holes in the hood for coolin and wheel it like I stole it- for the rest of the year. Pics and Vids commming soon

well you an I think to much alike I had a choped xj like yours before and am building another. and the old J10 I have is gitting a 360amc and the body of a 4dr xj and the box off a comanche...
you can fit the 454 no problem.. I did that a few years back... but I put it in the xj. I reinforced the subframe and mounted it in their. Its tight. her is a pic of the old 88 with a 305 in it.
have fun and keep us posted...

FYI.
That's a 14 bolt rear end ( About as good or better than Dana 60/70)
and the front is a standard Chevy 10 bolt (Dana 44/60)
Both are very Beefy and very strong axles IMHO.
Rig Looks great. I am glad to see you are not letting outside influence change what you want to have done on your rig. Keep up the great work.
