Deepwater Jeep
Got the tires and wheel home the other day ...
Threw them on .... and i introduce you all to my never ending project.
Once school/work got crazy i never finished putting on the TJ flares. The front should be going on in the next few days. Along with the header. We opened up the rear diff last night looking for where the noise is comming from. It looks like the carrier bearings are going out, the whole carrier is kind of loose in there, we tightened down one carrier bolt, then we noticed the ring gear had been eating away at the diff cover due to a hard blow while going reverse. So we beat on it a little until it was the correct shape again, and put a decent crack in it. But we arc welded it shut and it seems to be holding well...Sorry no pics.
Over the next few week i have alot to do, im short on time so i will update you all later today.

Hey real nice rims and tires. Bet Danny was jealous. So you two must have been busy, how did the air filter set-up go? Whats your hood scoop off of? I always thought it looked nice on there.

Yeah i have alot of pics of my jeep but we are in the middle of moving and all my disks with the pic on them are in storage, otherwise i would have posted earlier.
I like the tj flares, im doing it a little differently though, im putting 2 sets of rear tj flares on instead of using the front tj flares. Pics will come.
Ha! yeah danny likes them alot also. His air filter works good. The hood scoop came off a Camaro. I always thought it looked out of place, but now that im getting more black colored stuff on the jeep it looks better.
I also have a couple skids i will be putting on in the next few days hopefully. I have a front end stiffiner/skid and a gas tank skid off a older style cherokee to put on. I dont know what im going to have to do to get the gas tank skid on... but we will figure something out.

is that camaro hood scoop functional?
I put an L-88 style scoop on mine and it was 100% functional and reduced underhood temps greatly!. here is what it looked like at initial fitup
I mounted scoop on a second hood as the XJ is daily driver and I had one laying around, here is the actually hood
this is after paint and a new custom decal I had made was installed!
I helped recover like 6 wranglers and one or two CJ's in one day at KRRP, so the decal just tells it like it is LOL
I drilled extra holes in the front (lip?) for extra cooling and the scoop blended in rather well (you can hardly tell its even there in pic above) with the custom paint job I chose to give it
plus is radically drops the underhood temps while wheeling at slow speed on a hot summer day (and I run a AW4!)
your rig is looking good,
no jack intended,
just passing on some ideas

Well the header is in, you can find a picture on the header tech thread.
The flares are done also... i Really like them, I would like to do an in depth thread on their installation, i took alot of pictures and i wish i knew
what i knew now before i started. Overall i think they turned out well.
Next project is painting.
I want to paint the jeep black down from the lower trim piece and the front and rear quarter panels below the body fold. I will just be undercoating it. I also want to take the front bumper off and repaint it because i really did a fast crappy job the first time and it needs redone. I thought about maybe putting a single coat of undercoating and then bedliner to give it a different look from the rest of the body. Any thoughts or advise, i have never auto-painted before? I will also get my fairlead mounted when the bumper comes off.
