Is that from Randy's ring and Pinion? If you don't mind me asking how much was the aussie?

I bought and installed the aussie last winter, I got it from northridge4x4 for $230.
The gears/install kits/carrier are from Trent Fabrication. Best price by far of all the venders I pm'd on pirate4x4.com. CHEAP!
Randy's prices are nowhere near competitive to what you can get from vendors on pirate4x4.

Thanks for the info. How is the aussie when you turn? Is it manageable in the snow.

While I would never want an auto locker in the front in the rear its fine in winter.
I can donut the jeep at will but it is more than manageable. After a couple weeks I forgot its there as you adapt to it If anything it is worse on pavement as you can't feel the tire scrub during the winter.

Well the new hp30 is slowly coming together. Its getting sandblasted right now and I have a local shop turning down some tube to sleeve the inside of the tubes with.
This guy showed up and I have some 30 spline chromolly axles on order.

Get some 2x1/4 tube and turn it down to ~1.950 Cut it to length and press it inside the axle tubes. Plug weld it and weld it at the knuckle. Still leaves you room to run a 1.31" 30 spline shaft but you have a dana 30 with 1/2 thick tubes.
No more bending, much harder to warp when welding on truss or brackets.

I will take pictures, I am getting the sleeves with an order of steel I am supposed to pick up next week. I am just gonig to knock them in with a sledge hammer. Just to be sure to leave enough room at the differential end to get a seal puller in there.

It will work great. This is not new territory, you can buy kits to do this but I found it cheaper to have them made locally. This is also very common on JK front axles.
As I have invested a considerable sum in sticking with a dana 30 I want to take the time and beef up the housing properly.
