yeah they look ok on the bar if you were in the 70's. LoL but they are bright lights I will give you that ... they would just git trashed on the roll bar anyway....
I just bought a bar out of an s10 I think I can make it fit the short box mj I have. I like the looks

That would make sense because weren't the first gen Dakotas and the Comanches basically identical from the cab back?

not really. somewhat similar i guess but the dakota must have been wider cause i had to shorten the width of the rollbar by about 4".

At the risk of sounding stupid, does the MJ have a sub frame, or is it like the Cherokee?

I had to laugh when I saw this... sorry
I knew what you are asking but read what you typed?
yes the comanche is like the cherokee it has a sub frame.. now if you look from the doors forward the comanche has the same body parts of the Cherokee but the Comanches subframe is alot differnt. it actualy under the doors widens out and the xj are almost straight.. the Mj's sub frame does this to match up for the wider subframe in the rear for the box in the rear. like some old first out XJ's it has mounts that come off the subframe and go out towards eather side of the cab.. similer to a cab mount of a truck that has a full frame... most Xjs do not have them... and being AMC the LCA brackets are beefer then the Xj ones... early amc xjs are the same from what I have seen but Chry xjs are weeker,,, and do not have the cabmounts like some early xjs and all mjs do.. I actualy am taking some of the mounts off a Mj that I have for parts and am going to put them on the 87 2dr I am building to stiffen the floor... make the hole jeep stay less fexable floor and subframe wize...
their is my tip of xj/mj differences for the day...
again the Mj is a great looking ride and I can not wait to lit mine up...
and yeah the 95 dakota I had here for a bit is way different then the MJ....
