Its cleaned up quite a bit, but I need to finish that, and cut one more spot out. Then starts the new metal additions. A couple little pieces, then some big ones. Lots of seam sealer and paint involved.

Really gives you an idea of how thin the metal is to begin with.
Any wonder why we need frame stiffners?

Default Frame? What Frame?

After cutting the frame and floor out of the camper project, frame stiffeners have moved up on my priority list. The frame rail itself really is not that thick either. I think the stiffeners I want are twice the thickness of the actual stock frame rail.

Still chipping away at my floorboard project....been at the shop all day and sorta getting somewhere. Almost all of the smaller holes are patched and primed, leaving the large area in front of the seat-bracket-truss-mount to be done yet.

Those are just the smaller holes behind the seat bracket mount. The whole front section from pedals back to the seat mount still has to be done. Its all cut out, and sorta cleaned up, but it needs primed, painted, and a new piece fitted, cut, welded, and primed, painted, YOU GET THE IDEA.....

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Don't try to paint it prior to welding, the paint will contaminate the weld. But you can buy weld through primer. it's pricey. The rear patches look good. but make sure and use seam sealer, so you don't get water and moisture up into your new panels.

Yeah, Ive got weld-through primer. Cost me 16 bucks for the can, and retails at 28 or something crazy....

I mean painting inside the unibody rails, and places not being welded, but impossible to paint after welding is done.
Pic: that little square to the left of the larger patch is now welded in, and Im finishing the underside of it tomorrow.

Oh, Ive got seam sealer too, but thats later, after all the welding is done. And I can't remember with which type I bought, but primer and paint go either before or after the sealer. I read like 6 different directions when I was buying it.

Looks great Superman ,most of the available seam sealer sold at advance or autozone is paintable. The directions should say.

FWIW, I prime, seam sealer, then paint. It depends on your brand of seam sealer, I don't know if you can paint on all of them.
