Im pretty stoked, I got one of these babies for the overlanding/camping trips with the Jeep and trailer projects.

And another nice old Jerry can with spout of course, bringing my jerrycan total to 4+ 1 water tote. And some welding gear like helmet and gloves. Ive got a new 64gb card for the GoPro (freshly warrantied) so 2017 should be a badass year of Jeeping and Camping!
Let us know how you like that awning. Will be in the market for one myself in the future

I was unsure of the Smittybilt model, but now that its in my hands it feels better than I thought, so the real test is obviously using it. We will see. I can attest to the giant bag of hardware that was included with large ubolts, several sizes of bolts, and several different brackets.

Nice video, I'm not to fond of playing in the mud, nor water crossings. But it looks like you guys were having a blast.

Yeah, and I slacked on the cleaning part....Iowa mud is terrible. It takes a couple days and next thing you know its concrete. Literally. You have to chisel it out with a hammer if you dont wash it when its still wet. And we were in an old mine, so its red rusty soil that stains your softtops and paint.

Ok, the expedition build has begun. The Smittybilt awning has been installed, and is nearly full roof length on the Jeep, and it pretty freaking awesome. Im 6ft tall, and I have plenty of headroom under it while its mounted to the roof basket. Best christmas gift of the year. Although I did get a badass little LED lantern that should hang under the awning nicely. lol.
Soon I hope to add a folding table of some sort, and a power inverter....think Ill check out Exp Portal for their high-tech inverter experience in overlanding.

The awning unrolls out of the zippered cover, then the legs fold down out of an aluminum channel on the end, which is where the "frame arms" lock in. Those arms fold out of the alum channel at the mounting location.
