That's the only way to to it. Like you did. Buying dynatracs outright is only feasible if you win the lottery.

My original plan was to just put a 44 in the front. Like a newer JK style.

Don't let money or time discourage you. I've been waiting 3 years, and finally get to put about $5k in mine.

Yup, it's time for a new wave of cash to hit the jeep and I might be ready sooner rather than later. Whether I want to or not.

I'd almost say a JK Dana 30 would even be a good upgrade for you. It'd be a less expensive route that's for sure.

And if you could find a set of take outs d30/44 combo that would be awesome. Use the entire setup including brakes. Big upgrade.

Just to make you all feel better, bought my D44 front and rear for $200 and selling rear brakes off them today for $50. Got it down to $150 with free Spartan lockers.

Tenatively started another project on this today. Updates later. Hint, it's safety related

Havent gotten anywhere other than get my PRV for the ac (air) compressor in, and its working good so far. Now I need to recover the headliner I repair using the bounce sheets and fiberglass resin trick, and finish the intake for the OBA. Then I can install the window rack, and maybe work on the hinted safety project, and start on the front axle replacement that I dont have yet.

Love them. Only been off-road once or twice but they're pretty quiet on the road. Did ok this winter too.
