Default Camping @ Copper Mtn. B.C.

Last weekend was a long weekend here in Beautiful British Columbia, so a couple of the crew went out for the first camping trip of the season to Copper Mountain, just past the East Gate of Manning Park. We wanted to check out the old mine there, but it turns out they're in the process of reactivating it, so there were construction crews and security guards everywhere, so exploring the mine was out. Oh well, a good time was had by all anyway. Here's a few pics:

It was a little on the chilly side so a fire was the first priority!

A couple of drinks and a camp fire got my buddies lady warmed up!

And old cabin we came across while exploring

It's a bit of a "Fixer-upper"

One of the Critters living at the old cabin

Found a bunch of old core samples while exploring

Reflection from the window of my buddies Commander

Looking down on the river from the top of the hill

A shot of the Jeeps (Mine stayed home - Repairs in progress )

Con't:

Here's a sketchy looking teepee we came across while hunting for more firewood

Warming up by the fire

Combination of a fire that happened a while ago, and the effects of the Mountain Pine Beetle.

I had a feeling about the Pine Beetle, we have a bad problem with that in Colorado also. What a bummer to loose so much forest to it.
