teardrop trailer
ok so im a camper and im thanking on moving past tents. i have been pondering were i want to put my money in to i thought about a popup but it brings the same problem of a tent that you have to set it up after it rains and you put it down but i dont want to go and drop 10 grand in a new travel trailer. plus i want something light couse ill be using my jeep for pulling. So before i drag on any longer is there anyone on here that has built a teardrop trailer. i have good plans and good carpentry skills. if so id like to see some pics for ideas of cabnit placement and stuff like that. couse come winter is when ill start building it hoping to be done buy March. thanks

ill have to dig up some pics of someones elses i liked cuz im in the same boat of thinking you are. The other thing I have been thinking about it a roof top tent. They pop up literaly in a matter of 10 seconds. They also have a sleeping pad for a bed found in like pop up trailers.

I have been thinking about the roof top tent also and setting up the back of the XJ as a kitchen for a trip to Alaska.

There are also tents that would fit the back of the XJ for the cooking area. It would be a great way to travel light, but with the conveniences.

Those are my pic's, click here http://imageevent.com/brownrc/familyjeeping?n=25&z=2&w=0&x=1&c=4&m=24&p=24 and you will see them. The first one's are from a lady I met and she made it her self and she is in her 50's. She gave me the plans so I can make my own, but it will be more reinforced for mild off road use. Check out this link also http://www.outbackteardrop.com/
Here is one that I like.
