I never noticed anything. I would just run a stock replacement filter from K&N. I had the cone filter and the inner cone completely broke off from the main cone so i was sucking in straight dust the entire day.

I have one, have had it for years, and my XJ breathes better than I do. I'd say it's probaby the only thing that has prevented her from keeling over after some of the whupping I put on her!

I have a CAI 9 inch cone filter on my. I added it at the same time i put on exhaust, so i couldn't tell which (or a combination of the two) the power came from. But the intake gives a badass whistling sound when i get on it (almost like a turbo) So i'm satisfied with mine.

i wouldnt bother. for the price. but if you want an intake real bad, you could look into such kits like the airaid kit.

I bought one and installed it in twenty minutes. The biggest difference I noticed was better throttle response in higher speeds like passing or jumping on the pedal coming off a corner. It also increased MPG slightly. Plus it looks cool.
