I got pulled over in Iowa clocked at 130mph (just shifted to 4th gear when I saw the lights.) I won the race with the tbird supercoup too. I still have the stang I did it in but my brain has matured a bit. oh and 110mph on my crotch rocket ... that was dumb. :P

raceing is you and your car against the clock not the other car , in fact there are no people in the stands , no one else is at the track but you and the tree

Fastest I went in reverse was in my CJ5 backing down a huge sand dune at the Oregon coast. It looked really scary because I was doing about 30 mph I think. But it wasn't because I had dual levers on a D20 tcase and was shifting the rear axle out and let the front act like an anchor.

It wasn't really. by shifting out the rear axle, the front acted like an anchor. Just like going down in two wheel drive forward really. I did that about six times and kept going up my tracks and finally made it up "The Wall"

Going forward is no problem lol....it is the going backwards that fast....I nuderstand the anchor part as I owned a cj7 but the short wheelbase would be enough to make me a tad nervous Not much room there for mistakes.

So basically this thread is full of folks who drove like maniacs when they were younger.
Sounds like the makings of a new thread to me.
