hi guys
i just want say how great it is for you guys to have this site...i just picked up a 1996 base model xj...i bought the car with cel on ...guy said it was o2 sensor...auto zone did test and its downstream sensor..the one after cat...ok so i buy a bosch direct fit unit...with some research i see many folks say this is a problem...nobody mentions what brand does work...is it denso?walker?what?napa,auto zone all carry the bosch units....when i got under the car i found the o2 sensor wires(2)were abraded by the driveshaft..looks like another common jeep thing.my ?is can iwrap wires with elec tape without chg sensor...and what fuse position is the o2 htr in the engine comp..this car came with a blown 30a maxifuse laying in the console..help a newby out!!! thanks for a great site... |

Welcome to the forum. When it comes to 02 sensors, I've heard that it's best to get directly from the dealer cuz the parts store's units are iffy.
If ya got any questions regarding your xj, post em up in the xj and commache forum. You'll get a bunch of suggestions and help there.
