There is a common window issue with 97-01 xj's. The passengers will lose control of window operation and only the driver's side window control switch panel will open them. Being me and my luck, I ended up with this issue. I figured I could just let it go and deal with it but having someone tap you on the shoulder to open/close/open/close/open/HURRY UP AND CLOSE IT BEFORE MUD GETS IN/open/close your windows while you are 4wheeling gets old. I finally stopped myself from doing other mods to the jeep and get this fix done. I was informed on this possible fix when I first bought it a couple years ago and I saved the link. Since it's an untitled document, I copied and pasted it below.
The fix will mention to use a splice connectors but I didn't cuz I was too lazy to go out and buy some so I just used my soldering skills and connected a 3" wire between the yellow and tan wires and soldered em up. Worked like a charm and now all my passengers can open and close their window.

When the passenger windows quit working on '97 to '01 XJs, and the drivers side still works, the problem is the safety lockout switch on the drivers door.
There have been several fixes available but they don't always seem to work and are fairly time consuming to do. The following is a simple method, generally taking less that 15 minutes to complete. As long as the problem is the safety lockout switch, it will work every time.
What you'll need....
1 - 4" length of 16GA wire (any color)
2 - Red splice connectors
Tools to remove the kick panel
Remove the drivers side kick panel. Locate a large white connector with 3 wires, colored yellow, tan and black and disconnect it.
Using the female end of the connector just removed, take the red splice connectors and the 4" length of wire, connect it between the YELLOW and TAN.
Reconnect the connector and push back into the kick panel.
Reassemble the kick panel and you're done.

And by the way, it's a nut so it takes a socket wrench to get it off. You will know what I'm talking about when you attempt to remove the kick panel. I couldn't see so I ripped it off.......and then got the hint in picture #1 (above) on the floor mat. It was too late though......so avoid rippin it off like me.
