Lifts that are cheap are small. If you are looking for 2" you can use ZJ V8 coils and some S10 rear springs. JK shocks will work IIRC After that, you have to pay by the inch.

x2 on the CB. IIRC RightChannelRadios.com does a full setup (radio, antenna, mount, co-ax, and tuner) for around $110.
Could also get some $30-50 low-profile driving lights and mount them with the brackets flipped under the roof bars. Low mount, inconspicuous, protected from trees, and substantially more light when required. Mount a set up front and a set on the rear.
Also could get a $20 set of 55w driving lights from Walmart and throw them on the rear bumper in front of the tail lights. Wiring them into the reverse lights and you've got extra light for reverse at night. If you plan on using them as light for long periods of time I'd recommend a relay setup w/ switch so you don't burn up the stock wiring.

if you took out your rear sway bar, use the axle-side mounting bracket as a bar-pin eliminator for shocks. works beautifully. as to brake lines, YJ brakelines work well with up to 4 inches i believe, and Dakota spring packs make for good bastard leaves. Durango steering boxes, if you can find it, the 8.25 out of an 05 Liberty (this will give you discs in the rear). can also put the oil filter from a Dodge E-van on, it's longer and fits about half a quart extra.

Wow i did not realize YJ brake lines gave you so much extra length.
*V8 ZJ tie rods will bolt right up and are stronger.
*I have also heard of people swapping in the brakeboosters from the grandcherokee's for extra breaking power, but i havent really looked into it.
*You can use altenators off of the durango's, they mount the same. (And i believe the ones they put in the durango's came with higher output)
*MJ lift shackles
*You could pull the disk brake set-ups off a 95 or newer explored rear axle and swap it in. Or swap the whole axle.

V8 ZJ tie rods are a nice upgrade over stock XJ's.
ZJ pitman arms are a 1" drop for XJ's.

There were two, there's the 117A and the 136A. I went with the 136A, OEM PN:56027913. You can find them in 1997-1998 Dodge B.Series Van, 1997-1998 Dodge Dakota, 1998 Dodge Durango, 1997-1998 Dodge Ram Pickup, 1997-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. You need to grind the alternator mounting bracket a bit and clearance the timing cover (IIRC). Swap the wiring plug from the stock XJ to the new 136A and you're good to go. One of the best mods I've done, and it was $35 from the scrapyard.
(decent writeup - BC4x4.COM four wheel drive, 4x4, offroad and fourwheeling site.)

Did this as well, swapped the tie rod and the drag-link. Everything bolted right up and it's substantially beefier. Another good $75 spent at the SY.

'99-Up Horseshoe Intake
Myth: According to that great wealth of information that is never wrong, the Internet says you'll get a 5-30hp gain thanks to the '99-up 4.0L's swooped, equal length runners and larger plenum volume.
Our Thoughts: While a free-flow intake manifold can deliver more power, it's only going to allow as much air to flow as the cylinder head and camshaft will call for. Upping the intake runner volume too much will cause the intake charge to lose velocity, killing low- and mid-speed power and torque. On a '98-earlier engine running a stock camshaft and unported cylinder head, it's wasted effort.
Claimed Gains: 5-30hp
Actual Gains: 5hp loss on Trasborg's '98 XJ (Project Mileage Master)
This was in an older Jp mag, verified with a dyno test. I can also vouch first-hand that there's really no change, even with an intake, 24lb injectors, and a full exhaust system. I swapped one in on my old '88 and noticed absolutely nothing, even with the other stuff (since some mod's tend to work better in conjunction with other mods already in place). Not trying to nay-say, but I'd hate to see someone go through the money and trouble of swapping the intake and re-rigging the PS bracket (IIRC the early-style won't work with the late model intake) only to LOSE power or gain absolutely nothing (as was the case with mine)

Totally remember reading that! I had a similar occurrence with my 305 chevy when I only upgraded the intake manifold. I lost an load of torque on the low end.
