Default does a tc drop solve front driveline issues?

my xj was making a cv axle sound so i replaced one bad front wheel uj but the noise continued. recently i did a 2.5" lift all the way around. i removed the front drive shaft and cant notice the noise but if i put it in 4hi while moving i get a noise, but its a differant noise but partly the same, but only while moving. and some times a grind like its not going into 4w all the way. and this is with no front drive shaft.my vac lines to the coupler are kinda iffy as in there loose fitting.im lost now as to whats wrong.
im going to the boneyard for a vac line peice so it fits snug and a front driveline if theres one. but at this point im just geussing so i need help. the local 4x4 shop says a tc drop will only help the rear and will make the front worse?

I have a transfer case drop (1") that came with my RC 4.5" lift. No vibes after the lift, but later the front tires had an issue. Lots of vibes. I moved them to the back and the vibes were much less but still there.

I'm not sure if it is the lift angles, or just the rear tires now.

I'll be going to a SYE in the next few months, and removing the transfer case drop. It will be interesting to see if the vibes go away or stay, or even change.

As far as grinding noises, none, all I hear is the rumbler from my exhaust that the mudders.

HTH? whats that mean? well i have the cv style front drive shaft so ill be looking for a newer 4.0 manual trans one but for now i found a better one at the boneyard for $12 pretty good since they are like 280 new. mine had water in it from wheelin. no more puddles for this guy. so im going to put this ds in now and if it doesnt work im going to make a tc drop kit based off this site

if you are still hearing the noise without the front shaft on then i would eliminate front shaft as the culprit. put on the tcase drop and see if the sound goes away.

i discover some noise was my exhaust tail pipe vibarating against my reciever hitch. i put the newer cv driveline in and it obvious the angle is about as far as it can be and a tc drop is needed. but no more noise
now i have to replace my crappy vac coupler vac lines it just sits sloppy on the metal tubes so it doesnt go into 4wd always now. but im good i think im doing the drop tomorrow so i can go wheeling

The t-case drop will just fix a drive line problem in the back. guys here run 4.5 and up lift without t-case drop and have o problems tll you git to about 5.5 depending on the year of Xj to 6".. again no drop on the t-case.
as far as the driveshaft up front as said if you get that noise with out the front DS in then its not that, but you think it was tail pipe thats good.
as far as going in and out of 4wdr.... look at the linkage on the t-case it may need adjustment. alot of them do.
as for the front vac take the vac off and shim the fork over so it males it into a solid axle.
that way you do not have to worry about it. it takes about a half hour and not much wor at all and you know what you got when your done. I did it a few months back works great. after all new xjs are solid axle... not vac.
Now if you just lifted 2" no drivelines should be short or give you problem at all. it is not going into 4wdr at the case or the vac in the front is not working. you may also look at the fitting of the ujonits in the front , the ds and the fiting of the spline on the ds in the front. if its worn it will make noise or slip and not let it in 4wdr

i got a jeep situation....JUST EMPTY EVERY POCKET!
the TC drop leveled things out nicely im please... made it myself for under $10>
I had to remove my shift boot though because i was having trouble shifting into 2nd and 4th.
i replaced the front drivers wheel UJ and the entire front driveline which uses a cv axle at the tc.now my clutch is slipping at around 60mph

so did you just slide the coupler over and put the for in the 4wd spot? how did u shim it?i bought 2 vac couplers at the bone yard yesterday. both seem good. havent installed yet but i think my splines may be ruff from shifting into 4hi on the fly with a 207 case so i might need to do what you did. doesnt it cut down on gas milage alot? yea why did they switch to a live axle anyways? that means the diff and drive line always spin on newer units
