ok heard somewhere that it is posssible to put 05 06 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Front Seats into a 97 jeep xj, was wondering if anyone has done it. or if anyone has put black leather seats from an 01 zj into a 97 xj. What kind of mods will I need to make? thanks

I'm in the process of swapping 94' ZJ seats into my 93' XJ. Unfortunately I couldn't just swap the brackets on the seats and my 93' doesn't have a riser built into the floor so I had to fab one with some square tubing to get the front to anchor down. They fit pretty good and are 10 times more comfortable.
I'd say with a little fab work just about any seat could be made to fit in our XJ's.

I know that the ZJ ('93-'98 Grand Cherokee) seat swap is quite popular and doable. I have also see the WJ ('99-'04 Grand Cherokee) seat swap done as well. I have never heard of the WK ('05+ Grand Cherokee) seat swap. I think that they are just too different in general to work in an XJ. However, like Flawlessly said, nearly anything is possible with some fabbing.

Got my ZJ seats in today. It wasn't too bad of a job but make sure you have the right length bolts before you take your old seats out! I had to set in a loose seat to get to the hardware store, not fun on bumpy roads. lol I'll get some pics up soon.
