You can definitely sell your old kit. But you could add a 2 in spacer up front and a 2 in shackle out back and you have a 4.5-5 inch kit for under 200 bucks.

No it would stay the same stiffness because the spacer and shackle would not be increasing the spring rate. What brand lift and shocks do you have, my rancho 5000's are stiff on my RE lift.

You can sell your kit in the "for sale" forum of this board, craigslist, other jeepforums, or ebay. Lift kits on jeeps sell pretty darn fast if you price them right.
What 3" kit do you have now and what's included in it? Going from 3" to 4.5" will require adding/extending a bit more parts than what's needed at 3". The only kit I can think of in your price range would be : 4.5" XJ Suspension System Jeep XJ Suspension Lift Ron from 4wheelingplus is a vendor here and you can get a 10% discount if you order through him so RC would come out alot cheaper but I like the Zone kits cuz they are of better quality. |

Holy heck! You're right! That seems increadably expensive as well for a kit thats block and coils.
To go up to 4.5 you could buy a 2" AAL and get yourself up to about 4.5 with a little sag. Now I don't suggest the use of 3" blocks ever, with my experiance they cause nothing but problems (Axle wrap, bad pinion angles, very instable ride) I would suggest just buying some 4.5 leaf packs, new corresponding shocks and a 1.5/1.75 coil spacer. |
