YOUr going to laugh when you read this

There is one thing you could try that has never failed me and is very easy and wotn cost you a cent. Disconnect the Negative battery cable from the battery. Leave it off for about 10 minutes. Reconnect and turn the ign. on. DO NOT start the Jeep. Allow the light to go off on there own. If the light are on after about 1 min. Repeat the steps one more time

I tried both steps on my 93' with no luck. I ended up putting a piece of black electrical tape over it, instead of trying to pull the bulb.

try taking off the two terminals from the batt and touching them. I know that clears all the codes. however if you had a renix it would be because of the O2 timer under the dash. that is an easy fix of pull the plug going to the timer.

Disconnect the battery terminals. Turn on your head lights, Turn the key on, then off, and turn off your headlights. That should clear the computer. If not, I like the electrical tape idea :P

I was told only a dealership can shut off the maintenance required light. It comes on after a determined time so you will take it to them and they can charge you a small fortune for a check up and to get the light shut off.

Just to be clear is it red and say main req or is it the orange and say check engine?

No...there is NO way to reset that light. There is a little brown box, underneath the driver side instrument panel. It has a 2 or 3 wire plug going to it. That box is actually a maintenance TIMER. The process was...A. Took Jeep to dealership. B. Dealership performed appropriate maintenance. C. Dealership replaced maintenance timer without customer aware, thus resetting the light.

Bottom line, just unplug your timer.
