Question about lift?
I just bought my 98 xj off my parents, since my brother wrecked the front end of it I put it all back to together and I put a or-fab bumper on the front and now I want to put around a three inch lift. Its a daily driver and will time to time go on some trails. I dont have a lot of money being in college and I already know I have to get new leaf springs, but for the front should I get new coils or spacers and I also read on here about taking ZJ coils and using a spacer, so whats the best situation? and will I need to to get a transfer case drop and extended brake lines?
Thanks for the help

You don't need extended brakelines for a 3" lift. If I was you just order some 3" lift springs for 99$. Then for the back just do it easy, get some lift shackels and throw and 1" block in there. BAM you have you lift for as little as 200$. Plus that is super easy. Buy it all from rusty's or hit up ebay.

I put the lift on and now I have some vibrations like right underneath the car from 25 to 30 mph then it is gone once I go faster there are shims that came with the leaf pack but im not sure if the shims are facing the right way... the thin part of the shim is facing towards the front of the car .... and if that is correct any easy low cost ways to fix it.
thanks for the help

Thin side faces towards the front.
Try dropping the transfer case crossmember 1" and see if that helps.

that pic shows the thick side facing the front because if you look that cable is the emergency brake like and look at the brake like T.... I saw this pic on the website and it is what made me confused... so is the pic wrong.

That is backwards. Remove it completely. Yo should be able to run a 3" lift without shims or anything added. If you have vibes with nothing added, then put the shim in with the skinny part forward and try that.

If you don't have a SYE, then the shim may make the driveline angles worse. Try the lift without any shims or a tcase drop. If the vibes don't go away, then I'd say just go right to the SYE and remove your headache completely. If the SYE is out of the question right now, then the tcase drop will do just fine - go with a 1" drop.
Also, shims come in different angles (degrees). Depending on the amount of lift and SYE, they maybe the wrong shims anyway.

Disconnect the trackbar and then jump up and down on the front end and push it left and right a couple times. This settles the suspension and it should be pretty close to centered. If you want perfection then measure from two similar spots on the fake frame.

I have a Question I am going to buy new wheels and tires this weekend and I was wondering what would give me a nice aggressive stance with back spacing? I have 1.5 wheel spacers but ill probably get rid of them. I am going to run 31's on my 3 1/2 inch lift which there should not be problem with rubbing.... I just need some input on backspacing thanks for the help
