Shocks
From experience what is your opinion on good DD and Off-Road shocks. I don't have the money for the expensive ones but something comparable would be nice. OME, RE, etc.

I'd say to go with Bilstein or OME, they're more expensive but will offer a great ride.

I've had Rancho 5000s. Off road they were good at speed and kept the Jeep very controllable. But on road ride was terrible. I finally got tired of them and took them off. The valving is progressive, but needs a lot of movement to activate the stiffer valving.

i dont know much about shocks.. but i do alot of slow speed crawlin, like rocks or through tight trails.. stuff like that.. and i know the difference between a good shock and a cheap shock is how much abuse it can take before the oil inside starts to foam, causing the shock to loose its shock absorbing capabilities... so.. i just have cheapy shocks that have about 3in of up travel and as much down travel as i can get.. because the first thing to max out when your tryin to articulate out your rig will be you shocks..
to sum it up. you buy your shocks for how you plan on using your suspension.. if you rock crawl alot, screw it.. get the $30 shocks from rustys that have a ton of travel.. if you wanna desert race its gunna cost ya alot more for some shocks that can handle that kinda wheelin..

Thanks guys! I did little research ahead of time and was leaning towards OME. There a bit expensive ($400 for all four) but I heard they give a nice ride. I do a lot of highway driving. How are the Rubicon Monotubes?

Shoot for that kind of cash you can go Bilstein 5100, OME, or RE Monotube. When you said you didn't have the cash for the "expensive" ones I figured you were going to say you had a budget of under $200...

Man, I need to charge more for OME shocks then... $350 would get you a set of 4 shipped from us...
