Default Tranny Fluid Burp?

Here goes..

My radiator grenaded and leaked coolant out all over. Yadda yadda yadda, we determined the head isn't cracked or anything, so we put a new radiator on and flushed it about 5 times. The coolant was still coming out pretty nasty even after the last flush. (Driven about 250 miles total so ~50 miles between each flush) But what's baffling me is the coolant is coming out like rusty gross baby poop colored.

Basically, I ran out of time and had to take the jeep down to school, but about 70 miles out, it started burning oil like MAD, huge cloud behind me doing about 65-70. But the smoke wasn't coming from the tailpipe, coming from the side. Somehow, there was oil burning off the exhaust and tranny fluid all over. I pulled over, let it cool down, then got back on the freeway after checking the oil (plenty). No smoke this time, full power, not anything out of the ordinary. Parked it, no leaks no drips.

Is it possible the tranny fluid overheated and burped out the top? I just don't really know what's going on. It's parked right now. I've had the lift and 31s for a year now and I've hit the gas hard, trailed some jetskis, driven to school and back probably 6 times, I would've figured it would've happened by now.

I think I'm going to install a tranny cooler and keep on trucking. Any other insights/suggestions?? 2000 with a np242 tcase, auto tranny, d35 rear on 31s

IMO, I think you should of done a compression test an such to make sure there isn't a head gasket problem or head problem but maybe this is what you did to determine that was not the issue. No, you will not have tranny fluid burp like that.....but you could have a leak in a tranny line or maybe you overfilled the tranny fluid? If the coolant is still coming out that nasty, there is a good chance your head or headgasket is blown and is mixing with your coolant and leaving that nasty residue.

If the breather on the top is plugged, you can have this happen from pressure build up. I would let it alone and see if it happens again, just because that breather is on top and it means dropping the tranny to clear it.

X2 what did you do to determine that the head and/or head gasket was not a problem? Cause it sounds to me to be a problem.

Check your oil and see if it's only oil or mixed with antifreeze
