99 4.0 run problem

My sons 99 4.0 WJ started have a intermittent bogging problem. When he starts it it'll idle and run fine for about a block or so and then start bogging out and running rough at idle. If he turns it off and waits a few minutes sometimes it will and sometimes it wont idle and run right for another block or so. We've replaced tha fuel filter/pressure regulator and checked tha fuel pressure at tha rail. His pressure is higher than what they say its supposed to be at about 65 psi. We've checked his coil packs to be sure they didnt have any corrosion and were on properly. Also checked the air filter and inlet for any blockage.
Could his CPS cause this problem? I've seen um do some strange things on their way out.
No engine service lights come on when its running bad so no, we havent run it for codes.

We'd appreciate any suggestions on what may be causing his problem.

try an aid induction service, no promises but i did one to mine just as regular man. and it made a world of diff. plus jeep recomends

You more than liekly have a sensor problem, not all sensors will set off your check engine light but can still be bad especially if the problem is intermittent. Either leave it at a shop so they can drive it with the computer hooked to it to see which sensor it is thats bad or evaluate each individual sensor to weed them out.
