anybody on AC?

Hi, i am about to take a long, hot (climate wise) road trip. I went to refill my ac and followed the directions on the ac kit but still nothing. I don't know much about the system. I can see the compressor wheel engage and spin for a second, but i don't feel any cold air. Is the compressor suppose to run continuously? other than that what could be my problem?

Your compressor clutch should cycle on and off as needed.Were you able to add any freon when to the system?

kind of. When i hooked it up the gauge read less than ten psi, i was suppose to get it to around 50 psi, which i did but it sure didn't seem to take that much. I thought i would use most of one bottle but it only took a little bit to get the pressure right.

To properly fill an A/C system, you'll need to perform a vacuum to remove all air and moisture from the system before you can fill it with freon.

You need a vacuum pump and an evaporator.
