gas tank

greetings to all from a new guy.hopefully you all can advise me.I am of the opinion that you can never have a big enough gas tank.now the tank on my 99 grand cherokee as you probably know is about 20 gallons.has any body found a bigger tank you gas stuff into that spot?preferably something from another vehicle,not some expensive aftermarket thing made out of bullet proof unobtanium.I drive this thing on the road 90% of the time and am looking to get about 500 miles of range out of the thing on the highway.thanks

I know that there is a company that is making expansion tanks for pick ups these days that are pretty much bolt in replacements with higher capacities. I also know that there used to (and may still be) a company that made a 25 gallon tank for '84-'96 XJ's. I'd google to see if there is a company out there that makes them. I do doubt it though, there doesn't seem to be any space on a WJ for a larger gas tank.

i hope you find it. but i didnt even think of it . i just replaced my tank cuz it was leaking and i wudda liked a bigger one . o well my loss, good luck
